Americans in the prestigious Oxford University fellowship.

Rebecca Esselstein, a senior at the U.S. Air Force Academy, has a 3.98 GPA in the academy’s astronautical engineering program. She found out last week that she had been elected a Rhodes scholar.

“I was just kind of shocked,” Esselstein said. “All the people in the room were so high caliber. Everyone had so much potential and had done so much. Any one of us could have been chosen. It was humbling. It still doesn’t feel real.”
